Candle Care & Safety

Thank you for choosing a handcrafted candle from The Dyer Collection. Following these care and safety recommendations will help you enjoy a clean, even burn while getting the most from your candle.

Before Your First Burn

  • Allow the wax to melt completely across the surface during the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and promotes an even burn for future use.

During Each Burn

  • Burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Always place your candle on a heat-resistant, stable surface.
  • Keep the wax free of wick trimmings, matches, and other debris.
  • Keep away from drafts, fans, vents, and open windows to encourage an even flame.

Candle Safety

For your safety:

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  • Keep away from children and pets.
  • Keep candles away from curtains, decorations, paper, and other flammable materials.
  • Never move a candle while the wax is melted or while the flame is lit.
  • Extinguish the flame before leaving the room.

When to Stop Burning

Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the bottle. Burning beyond this point may cause the container to become excessively hot.
